Interesting Article.  I don’t agree with everything here, but some valid points are made.

I don’t think it is dying, it is all part of the American Heritage, if we can keep our children interested in and their children, it will live on, as old folks we were raised watching the “old West” on tv and the Integrity and the consistency of actions, values, methods, measures, principles, expectations, and outcomes. In ethics, integrity is regarded as the honesty and truthfulness or accuracy of one’s actions.

That’s the rub, isn’t it – keeping our children interested. Out of my 3, one is definitely not into the Old West or westerns (although he enjoys going to a rodeo), one is kind of interested, although I suspect that he enjoys dressing up in the Victorian garb more than he really enjoys westerns, and the third likes it all. I’m running 33%, but we live in Arizona. With our electronic dependencies (Social Media, cellphones, game systems, etc) that have all the winkie blinkies, it’s hard to pull them away for something that’s “manual”…hehehehe
Anyway, my two cents.
